Pros :

- Free shipping
- No commission

- Chat feature eliminates the need for a private phone number when contacting potential buyers
- Experiences a tremendous growth, having registered over $1.8 billion gross merchandise value within the first year of its launch
- The mobile and social element offers buyers a great shopping experience
- Offers simple guides regarding sellers questions

Cons :
- Shopee hasn’t put a mechanism to weed out bad sellers. Therefore, gaining customer trust takes some effort
- There’s a high competition among sellers


How to Become a Shopee Seller
Looking to sell on Shopee and promote your product across the whole of South East Asia and Taiwan? Well, first-hand information on this social, mobile-centric platform might be a good starting point. In this post, I am going to share with you everything you want to know to sell on Shopee and become a Shopee seller like a Pro in the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Before you start on this step, ensure first to apply for approval. Once you have the green-light, follow the steps below:

 

Step 1: Visit Google Play Store and download the app
Step 2: Register
 
Open the app and click “SIGN UP” to register an account. Enter your mobile number and set a password. There’s also the option of logging in with Facebook or Email.
 
Step 3: Create your seller account
 
The above process is for registering an account on Shopee app. Now you have to create a seller account. Click the “Selling” tab, which directs you to the account setting. Here, you’ll fill in your details, including:
 
● User Name ( you can use your name or brand name)
● Gender
● Birthday
● Phone Number
● Email
● Social Media Accounts
● Bank Account/Cards


 




Step 4: Upload products
Product images play a vital role in the world of e-commerce. You can choose to upload from photos in your gallery or use the apps internal camera. 


Ensure to upload clear photos. You can use photo editing tools and filters to enhance the quality and appeal of your pictures. 

 

 

For each listing, you can add up to 9 photos. Once done, add the necessary description.
 
Step 5: Fill in product details.
 
Fill in product details regarding:
 
● Category
● Price
● Stock
● Variation
● Weight
● Shipping Fee
● Days to Ship


Tap on “” to save changes or “submit” in case you’re signing up on a desktop.


Note: Adding hashtags is a great way to enhance searches. Furthermore, ensure to verify your phone number prior to listing the products on Shopee. Uploading pictures using a desktop requires that you take the pictures first.

Shopee Seller Fees

Selling on Shopee is free, except for a $315 fee for registering with ACRA (Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority). You don’t incur any registration fee nor pay any commissions. It’s more like the Carousell community marketplace.

 

Shopee, however, doesn’t have a logistics infrastructure in place. Therefore, be ready to factor in the shipping cost.
